Products Many areas of the country have poor soil conditions. Some soils are hard pan, others have high clay content and lack organic materials. Others are so sandy that water and nutrients wash right past the root zone Trying to get plants and grass to grow in poor soil conditions is a real challenge. Fortunately, EZ-FLO has answers to this problem. Fertilizer is simply not enough. We've harnessed the power of your irrigation system to dispense soil supplements-- soil conditioners and bio-stimulants-- that help improve the quality of your soils. And you can use them with a fertilizer to boost your plant's health and vitality. Better Soils = Better Landscapes. EZ-FLO teamed up with a leading edge Alliance Partners that have had a long history in producing effective soil conditioning products. We have tested their products in our proportioning systems and found that they work to improve your soil.

Bio-Stimulants (Soil Fertility Boosters) Many soils lack organic content or have chemical imbalances that leave nutrients tied up in the soil- making them unusable by plants.
The benefits of organic bio-stimulants are not limited to its effect on the soil. Bio-Stimulants also offers tremendous benefits when applied to the foliage of growing plants. They contains micronutrients, growth hormones, enzymes and amino acids that when applied at certain stages of plant development can significantly improve plant growth and health. Applying a bio-stimulant to the foliage increases photosynthesis and the plant's ability to metabolize carbohydrates, proteins and other growth compounds contained in the leaves and transfers them back to the root system. From the root system these compounds move out into the rhizosphere (the area surrounding the root filaments), feeding bacteria, algae, fungi and protozoa which in turn produce beneficial enzymes, organic acids, antibiotics, growth hormones and other nutrients. Once processed by the rhizosphere, these growth stimulants are then re-absorbed by the roots and transported back through the plant's circulatory system producing healthier plants. Almost all soils can use bio-stimulants to increase soil fertility. And if you have fertile soils, having beautiful landscapes is almost assured! We strongly recommend the use of organic bio-stimulants along with a fertilizer as part of your fertigation regimen. Fertilizer is simply not enough. You should add bio-stimulants to every fill when you first start fertigation, but you can cut back later once you get your soil's fertility has been restored. If you don't add a bio-stimulant, you will never know how much better your landscape can look. Give them a try. You will be impressed with the results! EZ-FLO is proud to offer three brands of bio-stimulants that work exceptionally with an EZ-FLO dispenser; Live Earth™ , Agri-Gro™ and Turf Pro™ Regular or Turf Pro™ Plus Iron. Each of these products is 100% organic and allows you to cut back on the fertilizer used thereby extending the time between refills, making them very cost effective.
Turf Pro/Turf Pro Plus Bio-Stimulant Turf Pro was developed in Partnership with the US EPA's "Design for the Environment" Program. It is a soil conditioner, nutrient converter and a general soil builder. Turf Pro is formulated from a rare, highly decomposed source of organic material from a histosol deposit in Southeastern US. Wikipedia has more information on the significance of Histosols if you are interested in learning more. Turf Pro contains 73 naturally occurring trace minerals, 20 indigenous microbes, animal and marine carbon as well as lignin and humic/fulvic acids that are excellent sources of food for soil fungi around the roots for the plants.

It is used in some prestigious golf courses around the country, including Augusta National, due to the extraordinary results it delivers. This is a guaranteed organic product as certified by the Guaranteed Organic Certification Agency (GOCA) in accordance with their standards. Live Earth Bio-Stimulants
Live Earth Liquid 6 is a premier liquid bio-stimulant designed specifically for use on golf course greens and other highly maintained turf and ornamentals. Live Earth Great 8 combines the power of Liquid 6 with the addition of Norwegian Kelp extracts to further moderate soils containing high sodium levels.
Agri-Gro Bio-Stimulant
Conclusion: Agri-Gro not only improves plant growth but has the potential to reduce environmental pollution through more efficient utilization of fertilizer nutrients. Thus the use of this product has the additional benefit to allow for the potential reduction of applied fertilizers.
![]() Calcium Soil Conditioners Calcium is the most commonly overlooked compound when evaluating soil fertility. Calcium is also the second highest element by percentage in plant tissue. Disregarding this information does not make sense given the fact that no other single element is used more by weight and volume by plants than calcium. Literally, calcium levels in the soil and plant are the backbone of any effective fertility program. The benefits of calcium to turf are numerous, primarily in regard to root and cell wall development. Research indicates that pathogens probe their way into a cell and inject their enzymes to weaken and eventually break the cell down, thus, a stronger cell membrane can actually slow down or even stop this attack. Calcium supplements the strength of the cell tissue for greater resistance to disease and adverse weather conditions. With today's new bentgrass varieties and lower mowing heights, there has never been a greater need for a calcium supplements like those listed below. Calcium allows plants to use sunlight, carbon dioxide, water, nitrogen and other minerals more efficiently and is also essential in starch conversion. Liquid "Gypsum" is a full 100% liquid calcium formulation containing calcium chloride, humectants (acids), surfactants and penetrants and water soluble polyacrilymides. Polyacrilymides act as a flocculant to bind soil particles together to improve water and gas movements in soils. Liquid Gypsum is especially useful in moderating salt levels in reclaimed water and buffering the pH. We suggest monthly or bi-monthly applications until optimal soil condition is achieved. Then annual or semi-annual treatments after that. Super-Cal contains 10% calcium which can help compensate for calcium deficiencies in the soil and plant. The calcium in Super-Cal remains soluble and available in the soil, but there is another aspect to Super-Cal which makes it totally unique compared to other calcium products. Super-Cal is formulated with a proprietary blend of organic acids that go to work in the soil breaking down insoluble calcium and converting it to an available form which plants can utilize. By using Super-Cal, literally hundreds of pounds of insoluble calcium per acre can be brought into solution insuring that the growing plant has an adequate supply. To avoid the formation of insoluble precipitates that can clog your irrigation heads, DO NOT mix Calcium supplements with fertilizers containing phosphates or sulfates. They may however be mixed with nitrogens only.
Water Management Products, Surfactants and Wetting Agents Drought Defense is a water management that includes a surfactant but, in addition, traps water around the root zone and releases when turf and plants need it. This product is especially useful in dry or drought conditions. Surfactants when added to your fertigation program help to improve water movement through the soil and also allow for more efficient absorption of nutrients especially when you foliar feed. EZ-FLO is proud to offer high quality, biodegradable, non-ionic, neutral pH surfactants that can be used on any soil. Regular use will promote a deeper root system, leach excess salts away from the root zone and alleviate run-off, erosion, dry spots while remediating soil compaction problems.
