Growers are discovering the benefits of fertigation with EZ-FLO. No longer are you tied to complex mechanical equipment that requires ongoing maintenance.

Unless your fertigation needs are complex, EZ-FLO can represent a cost-effective alternative to mechanical or electronic injectors and pre-diluted fertilizers.

Why pay your fertilizer supplier to ship you all that water when you can use fully concentrated fertilizer and your own water?

The Alternative to Complicated Mechanical Injection and Pump Systems

Now you have a choice.  Although there are a number of mechanical injectors in the marketplace and they operate reasonably well, growers do not have access to a simple and uncomplicated system that could dispense fertilizers and supplements onto their plant materials.  You had to struggle with equipment that required ongoing maintenance or had to be monitored  to make sure it did not "run dry".  You also had to invest in storage tanks and either buy diluted fertilizers for storage or pre-dilute your fertilizers every time you refilled the injector.

That is now about to change with EZ-FLO Hassle-Free Injection!

Delivering Solutions to Nurseries and Growers

Lower Cost Solution-Lower initial capital cost in many cases as compared to commercial injection systems with their storage tanks, blending tanks and ancillary equipment housing.

That's right!- a single, self contained tank and mixing cap all in one small form factor!  And with lower operating costs, EZ-FLO represents a more economical operating solution.

High Dispensing Accuracy- EZ-FLO's patented flow process directs a portion of the source water entering the tank into the top of the tank so that it "layers" over the heavier fertilizer mix.  Because of this layering effect, there is little dilution within the tank and the EZ-FLO unit pulls from the heavier concentrate section.  This separation allows fertilizer to be drawn off the bottom of the tank creating a consistent feed rate.  To help maintain consistent chemical blends in the concentrate at the bottom of the tank, a portion of the source water is jetted into the concentrated product solution creating a mild blending action within the concentrate.  This blending action continually mixes all elements of the fertilizer formula allowing even consistency throughout the entire delivery cycle without unduly diluting the concentrate.  Many other commercial injection set-ups require blending tanks to ensure that all elements are agitated to keep them in consistent solution.  Without agitation, these elements separate within the solution so that they are not delivered consistently.  This occurs despite that the fact that the blend is fully liquified.

Proven Durability- EZ-FLO eliminates down time and equipment maintenance costs.  EZ-FLO systems have NO moving parts, mechanical seals, pumps, controllers, or electrical components, so the equipment can last a lifetime with little or no maintenance.  Since there are no moving parts, EZ-FLO units can "run dry" without any fear of damage to the system.  No moving parts means no wear or tear!  Try to get that with a mechanical injector!

Portable- EZ-FLO tanks hold concentrated products so that they are relatively compact in design.  They can also fit easily on a cart, dolly or on the back of a "Gator" type vehicle.  This makes them easy to move around to multiple locations if desired.  You can install quick connect components (and EZ ball valve coupling with shut-off valves) to allow for quick reconnection to multiple water sources throughout the growing area.

Calibrating an EZ-FLO Unit

Simplicity makes EZ-FLO equipment the right choice.  The EZ-FLO patented design eliminates the complexities of other commercial injectors, which are more difficult to operate and maintain. Once the system is initially calibrated for a given formulation, it is not likely that further adjustments will be required to maintain the desired PPM.

Step 1

Fill the tank with any fully concentrated liquid or water soluble product - NO PREMIXING REQUIRED.

Always calibrate with more than 50% of the tank filled with fertilizer.

Step 2

Turn on an irrigation zone to adjust the flow control to the desired parts per million (PPM).

To do this:

a)  If necessary, to establish a consistent flow of product through the clear “fertilizer out” line, slowly close the ball valve coupling connector until flow is solidly seen coming from  the EZ-FLO unit.
b)  After ensuring that the downstream irrigation lines are filled with nutrified water, take a water sample from a downstream hose end (drip emitter or sprinkler) and measure its electrical conductivity (EC) using an EC meter.
c)  Compare the EC meter reading to the desired PPM from the manufacturers’ conductivity standard for that particular fertilizer and turn the feed rate adjustment knob on the cap until the proper PPM is achieved.

d)  Once you have honed in on the desired reading, you will not have to adjust again unless you change fertilizer blends.  Test periodically to ensure that the proper PPM levels are maintained.

Fertilizer Tank Capacities

EZ-FLO has a variety of tank capacities from which to choose.  Since water soluble fertilizers can be used in almost pure form with minimal water added, you can "pack-in"  a much stronger concentration of NPK than comparable liquids.  The higher the concentration, the less often you will need to refill.

In either case, the EZ-FLO unit does the proportioning and mixing so you don't have to worry about diluting fertilizers in large mixing or blending tanks or buying more costly-pre-diluted mixtures.

Important Note:  Please note that the water soluble capacities of these units is dependent upon using highly soluble, high quality fertilizers similar to or sold by EZ-FLO.  Each fertilizer blend, even from the same manufacturer, has different solubility characteristics based on the ingredients (NPK) which will affect the total pounds that can be funneled into the tank for use.

One of the best ways to see EZ-FLO in action would be to show you some shots of actual nurseries EZ-FLO in their operations.

Nurseries

This is an actual shot of a tree nursery in Southwest US with an EZ010 model fertigation unit attached to a main water line just behind the red ball valve. This particular unit feeds a 5 acre property where trees are grown and then stored for shipment.

The EZ-FLO unit is refilled every week after proportioning the fertilizer charge into approximately 141,000 gallons of water.  Refill of the tank takes approximately 3 minutes since it can be isolated from the irrigation system through the use of the included shut-off valves. It does not matter if the tank runs out of fertilizer since there are no moving parts to freeze up or to maintain.  In this case, the tank charge consists of 50 lbs. (4.5kg) of concentrated 10-20-30 fertilizer that does not have to be pre-diluted.

This is another photo of a retail nursery located in the South that is using an EZ-FLO system in combination with its standard overhead irrigation system.  Each location in this 20 branch nursery operation has been using the EZ-005 size  system for approximately 5 years without any maintenance issues other than refilling the unit.  It is an employee's job to refill the unit each morning (a five minute exercise) to keep the system running and the plants fed.

No measuring--No pre-diluting--No sweat!!

The Advantages of Constant Feeding

EZ-FLO experience, backed by university research studies, shows that constant feeding is the agronomically superior way to feed plant materials and crops.  The following table shows monthly gallons of water that will empty a given size system on the appropriate refill schedule when an EZ-FLO system is used to feed on a consistent basis with the slow setting (15,000 to 1 ratio).

Batch Feeding

EZ-FLO can also be used with more traditional batch feeding strategies.  The following table show the fertilizer injection rates that correspond to the flow settings based on the gallons per minute of water flow.

Parts Per Million

The following table shows the EZ-FLO feed rates at the various flow settings in parts per million based on the percentage of nutrient in the formulations.
